JOB DESCRIPTION

 

TITLE: School Psychologist 

 

LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 184 days from mid-August to mid-June.

 

SALARY: Salary Schedule

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Colorado Department of Education School Psychologist License

 

JOB GOAL: In assigned sites, serve as the MET/IEP Team Leader, Case Manager, and Technical Advisor to assigned sites ensuring that all documentation, procedures, and services are identified and implemented as written in the student's Individual Education Plan or Individual Service Plan (for private and parochial schools). To facilitate learning and to promote the cognitive, social, and personal development of all students.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Serve as the lead special education MET team member for the identification, placement, and allocation of appropriate resources to implement FAPE.
  2. Participate as a member of the multidisciplinary team and the IEP team.
  3. Provide supervision and oversight to IEP documentation procedures, maintain records, and complete all information necessary for the data management system required by state and federal agencies.
  4. Other duties may be assigned by the Executive Director or the Director of Exceptional Student Services.
  5. Collect and perform focused cognitive, social/emotional/behavioral, attendance, and academic assessments to maximize student achievement and success; interpret assessment data to inform instruction/intervention in a meaningful way to the student, parents, and service providers.
  6. Provide consultation in selecting and designing school-based, multi-tiered academic and social-emotional interventions for individuals and groups.
  7. Provide ongoing direct services to students with developmental, academic, and emotional disabilities in collaboration with other service members. 
  8. Active involvement in school-based intervention teams such as: RTI/Problem-Solving Teams, Student Intervention Teams, Positive Behavior Support teams, Data teams, PLC, etc.
  9. Engage in individual and school-wide safety implementation, including prevention, assessment/intervention for students at risk of harm to self or others, child abuse reporting and crisis response, and Threat Assessment.
  10. Provide ongoing training and support to administration and school and BOCES staff to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local sped policies and procedures.
  11. Provide consultation with administration and leadership teams re: data-based decision-making around systemic issues such as program development and implementation, service delivery models, resource allocation, etc.
  12. Other duties as assigned by the SJBOCES Executive Director.
