Position: School Behavioral Health Professional - (BETA) Coordinator

 

Contract Length191 days, may include some work outside of the school day for special events and trainings.

About the BETA Program:

 

The BETA program is dedicated to ensuring all our students reach their potential and graduate ready for college and careers. Our program supports secondary school students who are identified at risk for truancy, expulsion, or non-completion of high school.

 

We are looking for a passionate coordinator who is interested in facilitating intensive case management of students referred to the BETA program to support positive outcomes. This position will work directly with students, schools, community partners, and families to ensure that our students access all of the services and supports that they need to be successful.

 

Position Goal:

 

The goal of this position will be to support youth and their team(s) in creating and implementing Individual Success Plans that will lead to successful BETA program completion based on individualized goal attainment. The BETA Coordinator will provide intensive case management and direct behavioral health services to a small caseload of identified secondary school students. The BETA coordinator will work closely with school teams to build sustainable supports in the home, school, and community.

 

Performance Responsibilities:

  1. Collection of assessment and developmental history data and compilation of information for referral review meetings and/or
  2. Facilitate team and family meetings, review pending referrals, review progress on Success Plans, recommend researched interventions, review timelines and upcoming meeting
  3. Coordinate and facilitate all BETA referrals
  4. Provide intensive case management, which includes but is not limited to, supporting student access to interventions and appointments, coordinating individual and team meetings, providing direct services when appropriate, maintaining records, and completing all information necessary for the data management system required by the state and federal agencies.
  5. Increase family engagement in the schools through networking, parent training, phone contacts, and home.
  6. Navigate service support systems accessing resources for students and their families 
  7. Collaborate with teachers and other staff in areas of student need, eg. behavior management, crisis, abuse, etc.
  8. Conduct community and school education regarding the capabilities of BETA eligible students.
  9. Documentation, which includes but is not limited to, record keeping, progress notes, and data collection for monitoring. Other duties may be assigned by the Behavioral Health Coordinator and/or the Executive Director

 Education:

  • Master’s Degree with a strong background in behavioral health and/or working with at-risk youth. (MSW, LPC, MEd) 
  • Colorado Department of Education License or ability to obtain within 3 months of employment (Preferred).
