TITLE: 9 ½ Month Elementary School Secretary - Part-Time
Position will begin August 2017
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or higher
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred
- High level of knowledge of computers including: Publisher, Word, Excel, Google email, Google calendar, Google documents, Facebook, website design and maintenance with the ability to quickly assimilate information using these and new programs/operating systems.
- Outstanding oral communicator
- Outstanding written communicator
- Strong in public relations and customer service
- Strong team player. Collaborative in nature.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work requires periods of light physical activity and requires long periods of time standing and/or walking. Most of the work is performed in the office setting. Typically the position requires the employee to work in an office environment; lift and carry up to 50 pounds; reach, hold, grasp, and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally, use of specific medical terminology, and use of normal or aided vision and hearing.

Elementary School Principal
JOB GOAL:
Effectively work with parents, students, staff and administration to assure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office including maximizing a positive impact on every child’s education so every child can be realized.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead communicator for elementary school
- Performs usual office routines.
- Give first aid to students and staff
- Maintain daily student attendance records and mail weekly notice of concerns
- Maintain student records and student data management system
- Record and Deposit money for various student activities and manage petty cash account
- Recording and tracking of the Kindergarten tuition
- Collect homework for absent students
- Receives and routes all incoming calls.
- Maintains a daily teacher leave report and substitute report and arrange for substitutes in emergencies.
- Assists teachers in preparing instructional materials as requested.
- Processes all changes and adjustments in student schedules.
- Maintain inventory of office and order supplies as needed.
- Maintains a log of visitors to the school.
- Create and edit daily announcements, monthly newsletters, schedules, emails, general parent communications, etc. and orally communicate daily announcements and parent notifications, monthly newsletters, schedules and emails with excellent writing skills.
- Maintains webpage and facebook and other social media sites.
- Orally communicate daily announcements, schedules, emails, general parent communications, etc. through excellent public speaking skills.
- Willing to assist with all tasks that aid in the elementary school operating smoothly and efficiently through efficiently working with parents, students and staff.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: Based upon District’s adopted salary schedule for a 10 month secretary. Placement on salary schedule is between Step 1 and Step 7 dependent upon experience.
Work Schedule: 185 days per year or as designated by the annual school calendar.
Benefits: Sick and Personal Leave. No Health Insurance is provided.
Hours: 20 hours per week. Monday through Friday as set by the Principal
FLSA: Status non-exempt/classified
