TITLE:
2017-2018 Pagosa Family School Spanish Teacher – Part-time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work with/communicate with children, parents, staff and community members.
- Experience teaching elementary-aged children.
- Expertise in the field of Spanish.
- Colorado License or Authorization.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; sit; and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

JOB GOAL:
To provide students with a solid foundation in listening, conversation, and cultural awareness in Spanish.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach 2 Spanish classes of 15-20 students, K-8 (one older group and one younger group)
- Teach beginning Spanish and the culture of Spanish speakers
- Develop instructional plans and organize class time to provide a balanced program of instruction, modeling, and student work time.
- Provide individual and small-group instruction, adapting the curriculum to the needs of pupils with varying intellectual abilities, attitudes, and cultural backgrounds.
- Create lesson plans that provide a variety of instructional activities.
- Establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to provide an orderly and productive learning environment.
- Maintain a record of pupil attendance and make a daily report of pupil absences each period.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary: Teacher hourly rate as approved on the 2016-2017 Salary Schedule.
Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays following the district’s annual calendar.
Benefits: No Benefits
Hours: 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.
FSLA Status: Exempt/certified |
